Summer vacation is about making memories, and few places lean into that idea quite like Disneyland Resort. For summer 2026, the California theme park destination is bringing back classic Disney magic while adding new attractions, limited-time entertainment and special offers designed to make a family getaway a little easier to plan.
From new adventures in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to a celebration of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, there’s plenty happening across the resort this summer — and families looking to visit can take advantage of special ticket offers and seasonal experiences.
New Experiences Arrive at Disneyland
One of the biggest additions this summer comes from the world of Bluey. “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” brings the popular Australian cartoon character and her sister Bingo to the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland Park for a live stage experience featuring games, music and interactive fun for younger visitors.
Meanwhile, Star Wars fans can head to Galaxy’s Edge for a new storyline aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The new mission introduces guests to The Mandalorian and Grogu as they join an intergalactic adventure. Visitors may also spot BDX droids around Batuu and experience special projection effects celebrating the Star Wars universe.
Disneyland’s 70th Celebration continues throughout the summer with limited-time entertainment, themed food and drinks, merchandise and special experiences before wrapping up Aug. 9.
Summer Entertainment and Activities
Beyond the rides, Disneyland Resort is adding plenty of ways for families to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere.
Guests can join seasonal dance parties, including “Disney Friends Dance Party” at Disney California Adventure and “Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast” at Disneyland. Families can also pick up complimentary activity guides and explore the parks through scavenger hunts, games and themed challenges.
Downtown Disney District will also host summer entertainment, including the return of Disney On the Yard Presents Yardfest, celebrating the culture and traditions of historically Black colleges and universities through music and performances. The resort’s “Celebrate Soulfully: Summer Vibes” programming continues through July 19 with concerts, food and art experiences.
Starting July 2, guests can also experience “Soarin’ Across America,” a new version of the popular attraction that takes visitors on a journey above iconic landscapes and cities across the United States.
Ways to Save on a Disneyland Summer Trip
A summer trip to Disneyland doesn’t have to mean a full-price vacation. One of the biggest offers available is the 2026 Kids’ Summer Ticket Offer, which allows children ages 3 through 9 to visit Disneyland Resort for $50 per child with the purchase of a special 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket. Multi-day Park Hopper options are also available.
Families can also save by choosing travel dates strategically. Disneyland ticket prices vary by day, with lower-priced dates available during select weekdays and less-busy periods throughout June, July and August.
For families planning a longer stay, Disneyland Resort hotels offer easy access to the parks and additional summer activities. Guests staying at Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa or Pixar Place Hotel can take part in seasonal activities including pool parties, outdoor movie nights, dance parties and arts-and-crafts experiences.
Tips for Visiting Disneyland in Summer
Summer days in Southern California can be hot, so planning ahead can make the experience more enjoyable. Families should consider taking breaks during the hottest parts of the afternoon, exploring indoor attractions and using the Disneyland app to find air-conditioned experiences.
Water rides like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure offer a refreshing break, while indoor attractions provide a chance to escape the heat. Guests are also encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and take advantage of refill stations throughout the parks.
Families looking to maximize their time can also consider Lightning Lane options, which allow guests to spend less time waiting in standby queues for select attractions.
Whether it’s a first visit or a return trip, summer 2026 offers plenty of reasons to make Disneyland Resort the backdrop for a family adventure — from new stories and characters to classic attractions that continue creating memories generation after generation.
