A vacation with purpose goes beyond sightseeing—it’s about traveling in a way that enriches both the traveler and the destination. That’s what Discover Corps is all about.
The mission of this purpose-driven travel agency is to inspire travelers to become advocates for our planet’s natural wonders, cultural treasures, and local communities through immersive and sustainable vacations with purpose.
For families, that means trips where families spend quality time together, both lending a hand and learning more about themselves. Whether it’s a wildlife conservation project, helping with children in schools, or learning about the history of an ancient city, purposeful projects and volunteer vacations can bring out the best in a family by unifying them around a common goal.
We chatted with Discover Corps to learn more about how other members of the FTA can work together to make transformative travel happen.
What do you think leads families to you?
Families come to Discover Corps because they’re looking for more than just a vacation—they want an experience that feels purposeful and leaves an impact on their children far beyond the trip. Our trips blend comfort and fun with genuine cultural exchange, so parents know they’re giving their children something meaningful while still enjoying a seamless, stress-free journey. I think our success comes from staying true to that mission: creating travel that’s both transformative and accessible.
What makes the team at Discover Corps unique in the travel world?
Our team is small, personal, and deeply passionate about what we do. All of us have lived abroad, worked in international education, or traveled extensively with our own families, so we know firsthand what makes an experience meaningful and manageable for parents and kids. That combination of professional expertise and personal commitment gives our travelers a level of care and connection that’s rare in the travel industry today. We hear our travelers consistently say that "Discover Corps feels like a family" to them—this is exactly what we aim for as an organization.
In what ways do you work with others in the family travel industry?
We see ourselves as collaborators rather than competitors. This is true for travel advisors as well as industry partners. We partner with local operators, family-focused organizations, and other travel professionals to craft experiences that are authentic and distinct in the industry, while also meeting the needs of parents traveling with children. By sharing insights and working together, we hope to raise the bar for what family travel can look like across the industry.
What benefits do you see specifically for families/children with Discover Corps trips?
For families, our trips create space to connect in ways that daily life rarely allows—sharing new adventures, learning side by side, and slowing down together in a world that is normally filled with distractions. For children, the impact is often even more profound: they’re exposed to different cultures, perspectives, and environments in ways that spark curiosity and empathy from a young age. These shared experiences become touchstones for families long after they return home.
Is there anything else you want to make sure people know?
Discover Corps is about more than just travel—it’s about building a worldview. We design every trip with the belief that families who experience the world together will grow together, and in turn, shape more compassionate communities back home. Whether it’s through our small-group departures or private family journeys, we’re here to make family travel both effortless and truly meaningful!
